In early 2008, the Civic Trust for Wales received £50.000 from the Heritage Lottery fund for a project focusing on the heritage of the Rhondda Valleys. The aim of the project was to work with people in the exploration, interpretation and recording of their heritage. The project is due to finish in January 2010 and it’s been an exciting journey for the Civic Trust.  We would like to thank our many partners and the people we have worked with, whose hard work has lead to the establishment of an extensive archive of photographs and memories and the forthcoming book Our Valleys Heritage, which will be available to download here.

We hope the website will remain an online resource to explore the Rhondda heritage

 

From recording of memories and photographs to courses in recording of historic buildings, the projects and activites Our Valleys Heritage has been involved in has offered a variety of means of exploring our heritage
